More of a Whirlwind than a Weekend...

As some of you may already know, about a month ago we found out about an opportunity for Billy to go on active duty orders to Ft. Jackson, SC for a year. This would allow us to be within two hours of my brother and his wife as well as much closer to Texas during that time, and, it would allow me to basically stay at home with the kids (I would do some work remotely for my current company). We found out last Tuesday that we are going to South Carolina (Billy's orders will start sometime in April), put our house on the market Friday, and had three people come through it Saturday plus another three yesterday!! Needless to say, we spent more of our weekend cleaning than packing! My parents are coming up Thursday in the motorhome to take Alexa and I out to my brother's house in South Carolina. We will stay with him until Billy is able to come up a few weeks later with all of our stuff! We decided it was best to travel separately since my parents are available now and my doctor said I need to walk around every hour when traveling (how inconvienent would that be without the motorhome!) since I will be 32 weeks pregnant when we leave! I'm sure I've left tons of info out of this, but basically there's the brief update of the last few weeks! I have included a link below to our house listing on-line if anyone wants to see it--it's so weird to see a for sale sign in front of the house we've lived in for 5 years!! Anyway, I'll do another update when we get to South Carolina and include photos of Alexa and me!

Photos, as promised...

For those who have requested "belly shots", these two were taken at 27 1/2 weeks (or six months). I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant--11 more to go! The time has really gone by quickly with this pregnancy! As you can see below, Alexa already loves her "baby brother" and gives him frequent hugs and kisses!!

Our old blog will be up until the end of this month...for anyone who would like to view it, I have placed a link to it on the left hand side of this page. The user name is hill and the password is texas--for some reason, you have to enter it twice to view the site!!

One Year Later...

Well, it's now March 11th of 2006. Billy returned from his deployment a little over a year ago, and yet that was the last post on our old blog, "little hills" at typepad.com!! Based on my usage (or lack thereof) we decided to move to blogger.com, which is a free blog site--then I don't have to feel guilty if I don't post frequently (although again, I will try to do better!!) Alexa is now two and a half and keeps us busy, although she, as well as the rest of the family, is anxiously awaiting the arrival of her baby brother, due on May 27th! Right now she loves the idea of "baby brother" and tells everyone about her brother in mommy's tummy and that his name is Brody (William Brody).

Six years ago on this day, Billy and I were married--the time has gone by so fast, and I don't think I had any idea then the adventures that were in store for us, with the greatest of those adventures being parenting!
! This site's main goal is to keep our friends and family updated with what's going on with our kids through postings and photos. Tonight's message is a test to make sure I can figure out how to work this site, but on my next post, I will add photos (and once there are photos up, I'll let ya'll know this even exists!!)

Oh, and in case any one reading this is wondering why I'm spending my 6th wedding anniversary creating a new blog, it's because this is Billy's drill weekend (US Army Reserves), and they have a "FTX" or Field Training Exercise somewhere out in the desert between Utah and Nevada. Fun.
