She was a great little traveler, and we arrived at my brother's house in Charleston on Tuesday the 3rd after three long days of driving for my dad! Mom and dad headed back to Texas on Thursday, and on Friday, John, Misty, Alexa and I headed into Columbia (about 90 miles away) to begin looking for rental houses. I took photos of the ones we toured to show Billy and we decided on a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home located in a newer neighborhood only about 9 miles from Ft. Jackson (quite a change in commute from the 30 miles we're used to!). It has a fenced yard and they will let us keep the pets. Also, the neighborhood has a community pool and a playground area within walking distance which will be a nice reprive from the summer heat in the south! I've attached a few photos of the house below. We will start the lease on Wednesday, the 26th as Billy should be here by then. He hasn't gotten official orders yet, but by next weekend, he'll have to be out of the house anyway and Alexa and I are really ready to see him! He plans to leave on Monday the 24th and Chad, our brother in law, will be able to travel out with him, so he won't have to make that long trip alone!
Last week, I returned to Columbia to figure out where the hospital was and work on finding a doctor. It was a little frustrating as many of the offices did not have any appointment openings until May, and as the baby is DUE May 27th, that seemed to be pushing it! I did find an office with an appointment opening April 27th, so I'll meet my new doctor then. Brody is definately growing - he provides nightly entertainment as we can now watch rather than just feel his movements! Unfortunately, he seems to be most comfortable when pushing against the right hand side of my rib cage!!
As also shown in the photos below, Alexa had a great time coloring Easter eggs yesterday and finding them this morning! She got lots of new summery clothes for Easter as I realized most of what she has been wearing is a bit warm for the 80 degree weather Charleston already has. Her Easter dress was a birthday gift from one of my mother-in-law's close friends and I've been waiting for an opportunity for her to wear this beautiful dress! Alexa felt like a princess in it as she twirled around the living room as soon as we put it on her!
This next week will be fairly calm for me - no scheduled trips to Columbia, just working remotely for KEPCO+, lining up our utilities for the rental house, and enjoying being with my family. Billy, on the other hand, will be packing up all of our belongings and pets and preparing for a cross-country road trip!! Please keep us all in your prayers. I am looking forward to being able to post that Billy arrived safely and sending photos of the house with our furniture in it! And I'll try to remember to post more frequently so you won't have so much to read at one time! :)
