June

The month of June was full of activity!    On June 2nd, we took the kids to a local college's theatre production of "How I Became a Pirate".  It was Brody's first live performance and he loved it -- it didn't hurt that the subject was one near and dear to his heart!  :)  I love this photo of Brody with the cast after the play.

June 6th was the DCP annual picnic at Onondaga Lake Park.  The kids enjoyed having their faces painted.

Alexa's spring string concert was June 12th.  The kids did such an amazing job!  We are so proud of how much Alexa has learned this past year!  Alexa is standing behind the 2nd cello player from the right in this video.

On the 14th, our friends from Ohio arrived and stayed the weekend with us!  It was so good to see them again and the kids loved playing with their friends.

Admittedly, these next photos aren't extremely clear, but we use our dog to entertain the children.  :)  She LOVES to hurdle obstacles, so during the cold winters in NY, we would use the kids as obstacles and then throw one of her toys down the hall for her to retrieve.  If you look closely, you can see Penny leaping over the second set of kids in this photo, and coming back leaping over the 1st set of kids in the 2nd photo.

School ended on June 20th and that weekend was spent decorating the church for Vacation Bible School which began June 25th!  The theme this year was Amazing Wonders Aviation, and like last year, the music seemed to be Brody's favorite part!  I helped with the Bible story room and our 'theme location' was Victoria Falls, so we created a water fall from brown craft paper and fabric.  :) 

On June 30th, we accomplished one more activity on our list of 'things to do and see' before we moved from New York -- we made a day trip to the 1000 Islands Region and toured Boldt Castle.  It was a perfect day for the outing and the islands and scenery were beautiful!  Brody informed us after the visit that he was going to live in Boldt Castle when he grew up.  :)

 

The month truly flew and before we knew it, we were facing our last month in New York.
